BUA has designed hospitals and nursing homes for more than 30 years. We believe that the design of the interior of the building makes an important contribution to the healing process and, while it can never supplant medical care, it can be an aid to assisting good health, particularly for the mentally ill and mentally handicapped. BUA has successfully designed projects where mirrors and breakables have been introduced for the first time.

Barry Urquhart has lectured on designing for the mentally ill, and has a wealth of experience in this field.
